Batman Day Pictures!

Everyone had a great time at the Batman Day event at our New Jersey store! So many people came out to celebrate the Dark Knight's 75th anniversary and it was great seeing so many families and smiling faces!

We'd like to thank everyone that helped us, from the tireless Chris Ivy sketching countless Batman heads for young fans to Fat Jack's fans Robert Lieberum (Batman), Audra Sweeten (Batgirl) and Erica Lowry (Harley Quinn) for dressing up and spending time posing for pictures with all the kids.

And as always, thanks to everyone that came out and joined us for a fun-filled BATMAN DAY!

Batman Day at Fat Jack's New Jersey!

FAT JACK’S CELEBRATES BATMAN DAY

FAT JACK’S COMICRYPT CELEBRATES BATMAN DAY ON JULY 23rd

SPECIAL 75TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AT BOTH LOCATIONS

WITH SPECIALS AND MORE

And there's more at our New Jersey location - from 3 - 8 PM kids under 12 will receive a free Batman head sketch from our special guest - long time super star artist Christopher Ivy.

Christopher Ivy started his career working for John Romita and Don Perlin in the Marvel Bullpen. He's most known for his inking stints at Marvel over Ron Garney on Ghost Rider, Michael Bair and Tom Morgan on Alpha Flight, Dwayne Turner on Cage and over James Fry and Stephen Platt on Marc Spector: Moon Knight. Eventually his inking credits included work for virtually every other comics publisher.

"When DC Entertainment announced Batman day, we knew we had to do something special for our loyal customers, our devoted comic fans who continue to come in and celebrate comics every day of the year.  The least we could do was to have a special sale at both The Philadelphia and New Jersey locations, and being able to bring a notable artist such as Chris Ivy for fans to meet, and to draw one-of-a-kind original art for kids under 12 is a great way to celebrate at our New Jersey Location.  We welcome all fans new and old to celebrate this momentous occasion." states Fat Jack's Mike Ferrero.

Then from 5-8pm Batman* will be taking a break from his busy schedule to join us for a few hours to pose for pictures with fans of all ages.

And to celebrate 1939 - the year that Batman first appeared in Detective Comics #27 we'll be celebrating the 39 theme as both Fat Jack's locations will be offering 39% discounts on Batman related back issues AND 20% discount on batman related graphic novels, again, at both Fat Jack’s locations, making BATMAN DAY a great day to be a comic fan and Fat Jack's THE comic stores to celebrate this great occasion!

Coming on the heels of successful events including appearances from wrestling superstars Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian as well as comic book legend Neal Adams, and popular promotions with Dynamite and IDW Publishing, the BATMAN DAY event is one more way for Fat Jack’s to provide fun and excitement for all our fans.

* Batman not the real Batman (but you already knew that, right?).  Our Batman is a great fan who shops at the Fat Jack's New Jersey location and is dressing up for kids and fans to help commemorate this special day.  It's not often that a cultural icon turns 75!

Some Of Our Neal Adams Prize Winners Share Pictures

A couple of weeks ago we were honored when Neal Adams came by to help us in our month-long celebration of our 38th year in the comic business, and to share the joy with our customers, we gave away a few signed Neal Adams items, including a grand prize sketch of Batman.

I’ll let you in on a little not-so-secret about comics… No one gets into comics to get rich. We do it because we love it. Because we love the medium, the characters, the universes and connecting with like-minded folks. As a comic retailer, the best part of the job is seeing the smiling faces of fellow fans when they get to meet a legend like Neal Adams, or when they get their hands on something cool. Smiles like in the pictures below.

So thanks again to everyone who came out and shared the fun with us, thanks to Neal Adams for spending some time with us all, and thanks to Jim Schwartz and Hilary Fiorentino for sharing these pictures with us!
